Description

Ethibond-Excel Suture, White, PS-2, Size 4/0, 18" is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture made from braided polyester fibers. The suture features a white coloration, providing clear visibility in surgical fields where contrast is necessary. It is coated with a highly adherent polybutilate compound that serves as a lubricant, reducing tissue drag and enhancing handling properties. 

The suture is equipped with a PS-2 reverse cutting needle, designed to facilitate precise tissue penetration with minimal trauma. The reverse cutting edge allows for controlled passage through tough tissues, such as skin and fascia, reducing the risk of needle deflection and tissue damage. 

Braiding of polyester fibers provides the suture with excellent flexibility, tensile strength, and pliability, ensuring secure knot tying and reliable wound closure. The coating enhances mechanical properties by producing a smooth surface that decreases fraying and suture damage during handling and implantation.
